Designing scientifically curated and technology-driven interpretation panels to communicate complex ecological concepts and promote public engagement with sustainability and conservation.

One of the key challenges in environmental conservation is not just generating knowledge, but effectively communicating it to the public in a way that drives awareness and behavioural change. Complex subjects such as forest ecology, biodiversity conservation, and climate resilience often remain inaccessible to citizens, limiting their impact on public understanding and policy support—especially in urban contexts.

As part of the Ridge Interpretation Centre at Patel Chowk, New Delhi, CSGE was engaged to develop specialized Natural Resource Management (NRM) and technology-based interpretation panels. The objective was to transform scientific data and environmental research into visually engaging, interactive, and easily understandable formats for a diverse audience including students, policymakers, and the general public.

CSGE combined expertise in environmental science with modern interpretation design and digital technologies to deliver:

  • Scientifically curated panels on forest ecology, biodiversity, and climate change
  • Integration of digital displays and interactive learning interfaces
  • GIS-based visual content for spatial storytelling
  • Use of interpretive design principles and environmental storytelling techniques
  • Application of edutainment tools to enhance visitor engagement

By translating complex ecological knowledge into engaging, technology-driven experiences, CSGE addressed the critical gap between science and public understanding. The intervention enhances visitor engagement, strengthens environmental awareness, and supports informed participation in sustainability efforts. This project highlights CSGE’s ability to bridge science, communication, and technology—delivering impactful solutions that extend beyond research into real-world behavioural and policy influence.
