Detailed Project Report (DPR)
for Ridge Interpretation Centre, New Delhi

Developing a comprehensive DPR for an urban environmental interpretation centre to promote awareness of the Delhi Ridge in terms of its history, ecology, biodiversity, and climate resilience through immersive, technology-driven experiences. A special focus on judicial intervention to protect and conserve it.

Urban ecosystems like the Delhi Ridge—part of the fragile Aravalli range—face increasing pressure from urbanization, fragmented awareness, and limited public engagement with ecological systems. Despite its critical role in maintaining Delhi’s environmental balance, the Ridge remains underrepresented in public discourse and lacks a dedicated platform for structured environmental education and outreach.

In response, CSGE was engaged by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to develop a comprehensive Detailed Project Report (DPR) for establishing a highly informative Ridge Interpretation Centre at Patel Chowk, New Delhi. The project aimed to transform a high-footfall urban space into an immersive environmental learning hub that communicates the ecological significance of the Ridge while fostering climate awareness among citizens, students, executives and policymakers.

To translate this vision into an actionable framework, CSGE designed a multidisciplinary DPR integrating ecological science, museum planning, and digital innovation, including:

  • Thematic planning based on Aravalli ecosystem ecology
  • Spatial design of interactive and visitor-centric exhibition zones
  • Integration of digital technologies for immersive storytelling
  • Visitor engagement strategies grounded in interpretation science principles
  • Alignment with sustainable infrastructure and green building standards.

By converting a complex ecological narrative into an engaging, accessible, and scientifically robust interpretation framework, CSGE addressed the critical gap between environmental knowledge and public awareness. The DPR provides a clear roadmap for developing a dynamic urban knowledge hub that strengthens science communication, enhances citizen engagement, and supports policy outreach. This project exemplifies CSGE’s ability to bridge ecology, technology, and governance—delivering practical, scalable solutions that advance environmental stewardship in rapidly urbanizing landscapes.
