The Center for Sustainable Green Economy (CSGE) is a registered Trust established under the Indian Trusts Act, dedicated to resolving the friction between rapid infrastructure expansion and ecological preservation.
We do not just study environmental challenges; we engineer the solutions. We bring together a formidable institutional brain trust comprising subject experts, retired forest officials, environmental economists, and specialized professionals working on nature-based solutions and ecosystem governance. Who We Are
We are a collaborative institution working closely with Central and State Governments and their agencies to design and implement policies, programmes, and environmental initiatives across India. Our approach ensures alignment with national priorities while enabling scalable and sustainable outcomes.
What We Do
We deliver end-to-end solutions — from developing Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and conducting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) to supporting policy implementation and institutional strengthening. We operate at the intersection of science, governance, and execution to create practical, outcome-driven solutions.

Our Impact
We actively collaborate with State Governments including Odisha, Assam, Chhattisgarh, and Delhi on key environmental initiatives. Our recent work includes developing the DPR for the Ridge Interpretation Centre (RIC) for DMRC and conducting capacity-building programmes for forest departments and community stakeholders, contributing to climate action and sustainable development.
Objectives
- Develop and execute scalable, technology-driven projects that address specific environmental challenges and provide adaptive measures for ecological conservation.
- Ensure all projects align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and national climate commitments.
- Conduct multi-disciplinary research to provide evidence-based recommendations for low-carbon development and climate-resilient governance.
- Act as a bridge between scientific data and legislative action, promoting policies that balance human welfare with environmental protection.
- Lead initiatives for GHG mitigation and adaptation, focusing on sectors like transport, industry, and agriculture.
- Promote circular economy principles and “green budgeting” tools to track and optimize environmental spending at the government level.
- Advocate for Natural Capital Accounting, helping organizations understand the economic value of the ecosystems they impact.
- Deliver capacity building programmes for government officials, industry leaders, and researchers, local and international communities to enhance technical expertise , fostering a culture of accountability and sustainable living.
